The Sounds of Silence: Building a Quiet Home

Friday, April 6, 2018

Sounds are wonderful.  Think Beethoven or the Beatles.

These days, without ever leaving home, we can hear them as well as we could at a live concert.  We can watch movies and hear the sound effects as if we're at a cinema.

But that doesn’t mean we always want to hear them.  Sometimes, silence really is golden and unwanted sounds are simply noise.

Sound is produced by vibrations that travel through the air, and the best way to stop it is to block its path.

There are several methods of construction and materials to block sound, including Acoustiblok, which we’ve used to build several home theaters and which we used in the construction of The Mark condos.

In conjunction with other sound reducing materials, we'll also be using Acoustiblok between the walls and ceilings of units in The Gallery to minimize sound traveling between units.

Check out this short video that shows how - and how well - Acoustiblok works.  Prepare to be amazed!

When you want the sounds of silence in your new home, ask us how to help you achieve it!
