We personally oversee the details, from planning to groundbreaking to the final inspection. Frequent and regular communication, both on and off the jobsite, ensures a steady flow of information and gives you the personal attention we believe you deserve.

Alex deParry founded Ann Arbor Builders, Inc. in 1971, two years after graduating from the University of Michigan. The company has since developed several communities, built hundreds of homes, and owned and restored countless historic properties. In fact, the company began by restoring and rehabbing old homes in downtown Ann Arbor.
In 1973, Alex guided the company into developing land, and throughout the 70's and 80's, he continued to diversify. Two of the projects he especially enjoyed were the conversion of an old Ann Arbor carriage factory into a European style food market and the restoration of a neglected piece of West Palm Beach, Florida history: the city's first apartment/hotel, a Mediterranean style building dating back to 1926.
During the 80's, the company continued developing land while managing the construction of 50 to 60 homes per year. In 1991, the company purchased a foreclosed residential development on Marco Island, Florida and subsequently completed the project. In Michigan, during the 90's, the company concentrated on develping land and building homes in Loch Alpine, North Delhi Hills, Brass Creek, Brass Creek Court, Scio Sunrise and Sandy Creek. In Oakland County, it also built homes and condos in the Maples of Novi.
In 2003, the company opened the single largest commmunity in its history, Mystic Ridge in Hamburg Township, Michigan. When completed, the community will total 177 units, including single family homes as well as detached and attached condominiums.
In 2007, Ann Arbor Builders, Inc. formed de Parry Homes LLC, a subsidiary which concentrates on building homes in southeast Georgia.
Alex has served on the Ann Arbor Historic Commission, and is currently Vice President of the Home Builders Association of Washtenaw County and a member of the Custom Builder's Council.

Betsy deParry is responsible for marketing and sales. She began her real estate career in 1978 and has helped hundreds of families buy, sell and build their homes. In small, manageable steps, Betsy carefully guides you through the process of selecting all the features and finishes that make each home uniquely yours.
Betsy is past president of the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builder Association of Washtenaw County. She is also the author of "The Roller Coaster Chonicles" and Public Policy Advisor for Patients Against Lymphoma.
