Alex de Parry founded Ann Arbor Builders, Inc. in 1971 just after graduating from University of Michigan. It is the first company he began, and it has continuously served as the construction arm of a group of entities under the umbrella of Fifth Avenue Communities. Collectively these entities have developed many subdivisions, built hundreds of single and multi-family homes, and owned, restored and managed many historic properties.
Now, more than 40 years later, Alex is still at the helm, making Ann Arbor Builders one of the oldest building companies still owned and run by its founder.

Alex currently serves as Vice President of the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Ann Arbor (BRAG). Betsy is a past president of BRAG's Sales and Marketing Council. They proudly support the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Betsy currently serves on the Patient Advocate Advisory Board of the Society of Nuclear Medicine. She also produces and hosts
"Candid Cancer" reports for the PBS show A Wider World.
